ChiCha doesn’t fall into any specific cuisine category in my eyes, but rather as that vibey spot in Sea Point where friends can gather over good tapas and an amazing wine selection. It’s just a little bit paradise that Cape Town needs.
ChiCha is based around snacks and small plates where you can order and share conversations around delicious food. I don’t have one single bad thing to say about ChiCha. Everything was that good.
Luke and I tried a few different tapas and snacks to try and what stood out was how every single dish had a completely different flavour and taste, but every single dish was packed with this pump of flavour at the same time.
If you’re meat-free – definitely order the tofu bites, hand cut chips with truffle oil, and ChiCha corn fritters. The corn fritters with spicy dipping sauce will blow any meat and meat-free eater away!
Some say you only do steak at a steakhouse? No. You do steak at ChiCha. Trust me. You do steak at ChiCha. Steak that is cooked to absolute perfection! Soft, flavourful, and beautifully seasoned.
Try a little bit of everything at ChiCha – especially the tandoori chicken potstickers. They’re one of the best potstickers in Cape Town! I don’t do shellfish but Luke loved his squid and prawns too.
End off your time at ChiCha with churros. More Mexicana authentic you do not get.
I can definitely say without a doubt that ChiCha is the place you’ll make plans to visit, and equally just pop into for a quick bite and a glass of wine. It’s a gem.
Disclaimer: ChiCha invited us for lunch.
